The Reality of Evil in the Parable of the Wheat & Tares

Please do read Rupert's excellent piece in the latest Grapevine (also available on-line from the 24th July). The article is a reaction to the recent bombings and is worth a read. Here is an extract..

..Evil exists alongside our communities and can lie dormant for many years before becoming visible, like the weeds in the parable. Alexander Solzhenitsyn who experienced the evils unleashed by Stalin on millions of his Russian compatriots wrote: “The line separating good and evil passes, not through states, nor through classes, nor between political.. but right through every human heart and through all human hearts.”..

Get Well Soon!

Just visited Andy Currin, who has had an op this week on his jaw. He is looking good considering the op was only a few days ago. So get well soon Andy!

We also prayer for Mavis Rowley who had a successful hip op recently, but who's hip has popped out.

Our prayers go out to all who are ill or have suffered bereavement, especially to the families who have suffered loss due to the terrible terroist bombings in London yesterday.

Our office email is working again after some investigation. If you we're previously using Freeserve email and have lost your dial-up connection it is worth checking your telephone number settings as they have changes them without notifying their customers!

Horror

Our sympathies and prayers go out to all who have been touched by the bombings in London today. How do you repond to such a terrible event?

It is beyond the mindset of most people to understand what would bring one person to take the life of another - even harder to comprehend taking the life of someone you do not know.

We pray for the victims, families and those planning violence. Let us all hope that the message of love Jesus taught us can reach beyond us to bring healing and wisdom to our world.

Goodbye to John Michael Goodall

We said goodbye to John today. The funeral was very beautiful and the tributes to him were fitting for a man who brought so much joy to so many people. Our prayers are with all the family. Rupert spoke well and the service was full of hope. St. Helen's Church was full of well wishes.

It has been a busy day. Mathew worked hard to produce a mail merge letter thanking everyone who collected money for Christian Aid - a very respectabe £1,128.

Spent much of this evening trying to encode video from the celebration weekend - a tiresome business. The footage looks really good and the sound is excellent so we should be able to produce a first class DVD and CD of Ali Bullivents 'Heaven & Earth'.

office@sandalmagna.fsnet.co.uk email has stopped working - a message telling me Freeserve have blocked it, but with no explanation! I have emailed them. So please use my personal email for messages bobjess@btinternet.com

Bedtime!
